Privacy policy

This policy covers this website and Blackbox, a private tool I run for my own use. I am Danie Nell, the data controller, and you can reach me at danie@danienell.com.

This website

danienell.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and has no forms or accounts. It is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser details) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If you email me, I use your message and address only to reply and keep a record of our conversation.

Blackbox (Google sign-in)

Blackbox is a personal assistant that I use only with my own Google accounts. It is not offered to the public, and nobody else can sign in to it.

With my permission, it reads and manages data in those accounts through Google's APIs:

This data is stored on servers I own and control, and is used only to provide features to me, such as search, summaries, reminders and filing. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except the service providers needed to run those features for me.

Blackbox's use of information received from Google APIs follows theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Access can be withdrawn at any time fromGoogle Account permissions. When access is removed, the stored credentials stop working and synced data is deleted on request.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Email danie@danienell.com. You can also complain to theInformation Commissioner's Office.
